The impeachment, at least this one, of President Trump is over. But the consequences of what has happened could only just be starting.
One of those consequences is the expansion Presidential power. Historian Terry Madonna tells KTRH the Senate sent a strong message about what Presidents can do.
"In effect Presidents can do virtually anything as long as they don't violate criminal statute," Madonna stated.
But he also says this impeachment also proved the House of Representatives has more power than we realize, especially the power of impeachment. The standard has officially been lowered.
"The House can move any Articles of Impeachment it wants. They could be legal, or some other kind of abuse of power," Madonna explained.
And Madonna says he wouldn't be surprised at all if the House tried impeaching the President again.
