A backfiring car may be to blame for a lockdown at a Southeast Texas college.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted Thursday afternoon investigators believe someone heard the vehicle near Lone Star College-Kingwood, then called 911.
The college was locked down this afternoon while law enforcement searched campus.
Gonzalez says there is no evidence a shooting ever happened.
Lone Star College-Kingwood is closed the rest of the day.
