When federal workers sued for the right to criticize President Trump, they may have opened Pandora's Box. Or maybe they didn't.
You might be wondering whether you can talk about politics at work, and what the consequences of doing it could be. Rocky Rhodes at South Texas College of Law Houston says private companies can make different rules.
"Most private employees have no protection. You don't have a free speech claim," Rhodes said.
But if you're a government worker, it's a different story.
"Government employees have more protection, because the government can't take away free speech rights unless it's necessary in order to perform that particular job," Rhodes explained.
We have also seen this come up because former FBI agent Peter Strzok sued the bureau over his anti-Trump texts from before the election.
