Horror Movie Gas Station Turned Restaurant

The gas station used for location shooting in the 1974 film "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is now a barbecue restaurant.

Known as The Gas Station, it's on Highway 304 just south of Bastrop.

The owners bought the building years ago, refurbished it, and opened it to the public in 2016.

The place has an old gas pump, a vintage Coca-Cola machine, and the same type of van that was in the movie parked out front.

The Gas Station sells barbecue and horror movie memorabilia.

There are also four cabins, if you dare to stay the night.
