Cleanup Continues At Site Of ITC Tank Fire

(Deer Park, TX) -- Crews are continuing the cleanup after last week's tank fire at Intercontinental Terminals Company in Deer Park. On Monday, company officials said five tanks had been emptied, and another was expected to be done by that afternoon. Two tanks were still full, with one scheduled to be emptied starting Monday night.

An EPA spokesman says no more hazardous gases are being detected. The Coast Guard has reopened the San Jacinto River, but only limited daytime traffic is being allowed in the ship channel. ITC reports it's received around 16-hundred calls for legal claim inquiries as of last Friday.
