Oldest US Resident And WWII Vet Dies At 112

When Richard Overton passed on Thursday, he held two claims to fame. At 112-years-old, he was not only America's oldest WWII veteran, he might have been the oldest man living in the United States.

Serving in the Army at Pearl Harbor just after the attack, Overton was honored by former President Obama in 2013 on Veterans Day.

The Centenarian once revealed the secret to his longevity: smoking cigars and drinking whiskey, two things he loved to do outside his Austin, Texas home.

Releasing a statement, Governor Greg Abbott called Overton "an American icon and Texas legend," adding that he was "honored" to know the Lone State State resident.

Which other "secrets" to longevity have you heard?
