Texans hit road to face Redskins

The Houston Texans started the year with three straight losses, but not many people around here are thinking about the struggles of September. Not after the last six games.

Those six games were all wins for the Texans, who at 6-3 are now in first place in the AFC South. But the Texans, and their winning streak, will be put to the test on Sunday afternoon in Washington against the Redskins.

The Redskins, like the Texans are 6-3 on the season. And just like the Texans, Washington is a first place team, leading the NFC East. And it’s November. Quarterback Deshaun Watson says with the second half of the season starting, it’s become crunch time.

“It’s getting to be that time where everything is crunch time. But for me, every game is big,” Watson said.

J.J. Watt has been one of the reasons for the Texans turnaround. He has missed most of the last two years because of injuries, but he looks like the Watt of old this year, with nine sacks in nine games. He’s just happy to be stepping on the field again, let along be productive.

“There’s still a lot of football left. There’s a ton of games to be played. I’m just happy as hell to be playing them,” Watt stated.

The Texans are coming off their bye week. Kickoff is at Noon.
