Abbott Sending Texas Firefighters To Battle California Wildfires

(Austin, TX)  --  Hundreds of Texas firefighters and support personnel are setting out for California this morning to help fight the latest outbreak of wildfires.  

Gov. Greg Abbott announced on Sunday that 200 firefighters with 55 fire engines will be heading out from local fire departments statewide, including San Antonio, Schertz, and Grey Forest.  

Teams from the Texas Forest Service at Texas A&M are also being deployed.  Abbott said Texas is sending personnel and equipment to California, along with prayers.
