Brady’s role changes in Congress

Now that Democrats have regained control of the House of Representatives, there is change coming to Washington. What does that mean for Texas Congressmen?

For Woodlands Congressman Kevin Brady, it means he won’t be the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee anymore. He told Jimmy Barrett and Shara Fryer on KTRH this morning that his role will change once the new Congress is sworn in.

“We’ll move from passing more tax cuts to defending against tax increases. That’s going to be my new job,” Brady said.

The Congressman, who has served since 1997 and won re-election last night, also says Democrats have a choice now. They can govern or they can face the consequences in 2020.

“If their only agenda is to hate the President, I think the House will flip back and the President is going to win,” Brady explained.
