A five-year-old California girl will be allowed to bring her cannabis-based medicine to school with her. Brooke Adams has a severe form of epilepsy. Her life-threatening seizures can be somewhat controlled when she takes CBD oil preventatively and THC as an emergency medication.
After a lengthy court battle, Brooke will be allowed to attend the public school in her area along with her controversial drug treatment. Her family is not the first to face this issue.
In April, an Illinois judge ruled in favor of letting an eleven-year-old leukemia patient attend classes with her cannabis-based medication. Some students in Colorado, Maine, New Jersey and Washington state have also been allowed to bring their cannabis-based meds to school.
