A 42-year-old man swimming down the coast on Crystal Beach, claims he was attacked by a shark. After the attack, he was able to get out of the water. His family drove him to go get help and flagged down a deputy who helped him get help from EMS.
The Galveston County Sheriff's Office says the man was swimming off Bolivar Peninsula near Stingaree Road around 10 a.m. when the shark bit him above his right knee.
He's currently recovering at UTMB in Galveston and is expected to survive.
