Border Patrol Arrests Two Immigrant Sex Criminals

U.S. Border Patrol agents are reporting the arrests of two convicted sex offenders who had previously been deported.

Last weekend, an agent at the Comstock Station arrested 41-year-old Hector Vargas-Pineda, who was deported in 2002 after serving prison time for aggravated sexual assault in Denton County.

On Tuesday, agents at the Eagle Pass Station arrested 41-year-old Santos Sanchez-Diaz, who was deported in 2001 after a conviction for criminal sexual conduct in Minnesota.

Each man faces a charge of illegal re-entry after deportation, which has a sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
