WORLD SERIES BOUND!

The Houston Astros are heading for their second World Series in franchise history, after beating the Yankees 4-0 in Game Seven of the American League Championship Series.

Pitchers Charlie Morton and Lance McCullers, Junior combined to throw a three-hit shutout.   Morton struck out five in five innings’ work.  McCullers came on in relief, striking out six.

The scoring got underway in the fourth inning when designated hitter Evan Gattis hit a solo home run to left-center.  Jose Altuve followed with a solo shot in the fifth inning, and catcher Brian McCann drove in the final two runs of the game with a double in the same inning.

The Astros move on to face the LA Dodgers in the World Series.  It’s the Dodgers’ first appearance in the series since 1988.

The Astros last made it to the Series as members of the National League in 2005.

The best-of-seven World Series gets underway Tuesday night in L.A.
