Houston airports set to reopen today

George Bush Intercontinental and Hobby airports, both closed due to weather and flooding since Sunday, will resume limited domestic flight operations beginning at 4 p.m. today.

Travelers should check with their air carrier before going to either airport. Southwest Airlines said on Twitter that it would begin flights to and from Hobby at noon Saturday. American Airlines reportedly will restart service on Friday.

At IAH, American and United Airlines said they plan to resume flights on Thursday.

As for parking, Houston Airport Systems said their lots and EcoPark were operational, but conditions were uncertain at satellite lots.

The Federal Aviation Administration warned passengers that resuming normal airline operations will take time, and airlines may not be operating full flight schedules immediately.
