“Robby the Robot” May Take Your Job

The idea that robots will replace human workers isn't a prediction for the distant future -- it's apparently happening right now. Millions of workers are being displaced.

Dr. Reza Langari is a professor of mechanical engineering at Texas A&M. He says the use of robotics is expanding into many fields.

“In industrial settings,” Dr. Langari says, “in everything from traditional manufacturing to even things like construction.”

Robots are helping, and many cases replacing human workers.

“The new revolution in robotics is the added intelligence, plus the physical capabilities,” he says, “that the latest generations of robots are being equipped with.”
