Houston Vying for Future NFL Draft

Take a look at this weekend’s NFL draft in Philadelphia.  Now imagine the same thing happening in Houston.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is developing a policy of moving the springtime event to cities around the nation, and Houston is said to be one of 14 locations lobbying to become a host in 2018.

The city put its best foot forward last February when it held the Super Bowl.  Local officials have not mentioned any specific location where the draft may occur.

So far this year, the Houston Texans have addressed several needs in their lineup, selecting Clemson quarterback DeShaun Watson with their first round pick (12th overall).  In the second round they selected Vanderbilt linebacker Zack Cunningham.  Texas Longhorns running back D’Onta Foreman will be coming to Houston also, after being selected in the third round.

The team has four selections today, when rounds four through seven are held.
