Former President George H. W. Bush remains under observation at Houston Methodist Hospital.
"He continues to gain strength following his recovery from a mild case of pneumonia," spokesman Jim McGarth announced Wednesday.
The former president, 92, has been hospitalized twice this year.
"Mr. Bush had a good night’s rest, and his spirits are high," McGratjh said. "Although he will not be discharged today, he is already looking forward to going home to Mrs. Bush, who has been constantly by his side."
