An event this weekend in the Bryan-College Station area celebrates all things Texas. Activities started with Texas Independence Day Thursday, but Spirit of Texas spokesman Jeremy Desel says they're going to try to set some world records.
“We're going to have an official from the Guinness Book of World Records there,” he says, “to actually adjudicate three attempted world records in one day.”
Plans are in the works to cook the world's biggest bowl of chili, followed a few hours later by the world's biggest Frito pie. To work off the calories, up to two-thousand dancers will do the Two-Step all at once in an effort to set a third world record. Everything is free at Wolf Penn Creek Park through Sunday.
