Houston police report more than 100 arrests were made during Super Bowl week and hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of fake merchandise was seized.
However, just five people were taken into custody on game day.
Harris County Precinct 4 constables made 32 arrests for prostitution during the 10-day period, reports NewsRadio 740 KTRH’s Nik Rajkovic.
Local police say there were dozens of arrests and hundreds of thousands of counterfeit items seized – phony tickets and unauthorized appropriation of intellectual property -- during Super Bowl week … but the numbers were lower than the last time Houston hosted the Super Bowl.
Apart from the prostitution-related arrests, 107 people were arrested during the week of the big game.
By comparison, 189 people were arrested when Houston hosted the Super Bowl in 2004.
