Uncertainty Reigns in the Gulf

A storm system is brewing in the Gulf of Mexico and even meteorologists are having trouble forecasting its future.

The Galveston County Office of Emergency Management is taking no chances.  Coordinator David Popoff says they have to make preparations to put 300,000 people on alert if the storm turns in our direction.  He tells our TV partner Local-2, "It's a big team with a lot of moving pieces and we want to make sure we can get up and running efficiently quickly,"

The National Hurricane Center reports there is a 40-percent chance the system will become a tropical depression by early next week.  Computer models show a range of possible paths, from Mexico to Louisiana.
