Taking Aim at Buc-ee's Bottom Line

Another day - another boycott.  Political strategists are dismissing a call by San Antonio Congressman Joaquin Castro... who wants to boycott "Buc-ee's" after the company founders endorsed Republican Dan Patrick for Lt. Governor"

"It's pointedly absurd; and I'm just sorry that people are even... considering this kind of nonsense."

Consultant Bill Miller says Castro is trying to score political points for Democrat Leticia Van de Putte, who will face either Senator Patrick or Lt. Governor David Dewhurst in November.  Castro referred to Patrick as a "fear mongering immigrant basher":

"It's just politics writ large, and he's trying to color the candidate with this kind of anti-immigrant, kind of American ugliness.  And that was his point in making that comment in my opinion."

Buc-ees issued a statement saying its corporation does not endorse candidates and this is the individual endorsement of the owners.
