Houston – Definitely a “Sellers’ Market”
Posted June 26th, 2013 @ 4:15am by KTRH’s Dale Forbis

Homes in Houston are selling like hot cakes – even faster.  That has the head of the Houston Association of Realtors saying emphatically, “It’s a sellers’ market.”

Danny Frank says most markets have a six-month inventory of homes available for sale.  In Houston, that’s a little over three months.

“We’re half of that (six months),” he says.  “Days on the market really depends on the general location, but on average it’s taking less than 60 days to sell your house.”

That’s why it’s a sellers’ market.

“The lack of inventory,” Frank explains.  “The job growth in the Houston market has a lot to do with where we are.  Right now, we’re selling more than we’re bringing in.”

That’s why your Realtor may be working harder than ever at finding new listings.
