A failed carjacking led to a fiery crash causing the shutdown of an intersection for hours.

The intersection of Uvalde Road and Woodforest Boulevard to be shut down for several hours Saturday night after a car thief's getaway turned sour.  A Harris County Sheriff's deputy on the scene told our television Local 2 a woman was coming out of Walgreen's store on the corner when she saw someone stealing her Jeep.

When the thief pulled out of the parking lot they hit a man on his motorcycle. The Jeep then burst into flames so the carjacker jumped out the vehicle and took off running.  At last check the suspect remains at large.  The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital for serious injuries.
