The Houston Astros will open their Minute Maid Park home to veterans on November 11th.  Team spokesperson Twila Carter says the Astros want to fill the park when it honors those who served in World War II

“The gates open at 11, she says.  “We'll have entertainment featuring Tracy Byrd and Gary Morris.  The centerpiece of the day is the screening of ‘Honor Flight:  One Last Mission.’”

Carter says the veterans always say the Honor Flight to see the World War II Memorial in Washington is the best day of their life, behind only their wedding day and their children being born.

The Astros want to set a record.

“In Milwaukee they showed this (film) at Miller Park,” she explains, “and they charged an entrance fee and had over 28,000, and our event is free and open to the public, so we want to fill the house.”
