Flooding Continues Today and Tomorrow

The water will keep rising this weekend after days of deluges.

Harris, Huntsville and other residential areas are under disaster declaration, allowing more resources to be deployed. Several counties have been under flood advisories advisories. Lake Livingstone under a boil water notice.

Check on levels in the rivers and bayous here. Flooding on the San Jacinto River are expected to rise to 78 feet above sea level. the river is expected to crest this weekend, which is why mandatory evacuations have been issued.

On Friday the mandatory and voluntary evacuations are as follows:

These are the neighborhoods included in the evacuation order.

  • Idle Glen
  • Idle Wild
  • Northwood Country Estates
  • River Terrace
  • Cypress Point
  • Commons of Lake Houston

Voluntary evacuations

Voluntary evacuation advisories for several other communities around the San Jacinto River. People in the following areas should leave or plan to be stuck for two or three days.

  • Kingwood near the west fork of the river
  • Forest Cove
  • North Shore
  • Bellawood
  • River Crest
  • Rio Villa
  • Kingspoint
  • Atascocita Shores

Be aware of road closings when set by officials.
